COVID-19 POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
The health and safety of our dancers, faculty, and parents are our utmost priority. As our studio heads into the first phase of reopening (and all phases after) we will be following strict guidelines that have been set forth by Alberta Health Services. If/As the guidelines change, we will be updating our own policies and procedures.
Prevention measures in place at Zhaoli Dance School for the spread of COVID-19 are detailed below:

TUITION FEES AND REFUND POLICIES
**NEW - The studio is required by the government to log absences and excuses. Please extend the courtesy of notifying us by email if your child is going to be absent and the reason why to [email protected]. Please make sure students arrive at least five (5) minutes prior to the start time of class and are picked up upon completion of the class. The student’s class level will be determined by the instructor. If necessary, the instructor may recommend a student move to a different class to better suit the student’s needs. Parents will be notified of any changes within the first 2 weeks of classes.
SIGNS OF ILLNESS:
- No one with any signs of illness will be permitted inside the studio
- If your dancer develops any of the symptoms below in or outside of the studio that could be related to COVID-19 they should either get tested for COVID-19 or wait out the 14-day quarantine period mandated by Alberta Health before returning to the studio. Symptoms include:
- Fever
- Cough
- Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
- Runny nose
- Sore Throat
BEFORE LEAVING HOME:
- Please check your dancer’s temperature before coming to the studio. If they have any signs of a fever (38 degrees or higher), please keep them home.
CLASS STRUCTURE/CAPACITY:
- Class numbers will be limited to ensure adequate physical distancing at all times.
- Floor/space markers will be placed in our common areas and studios to ensure 2m physical distancing spacing requirements are adhered to at all times.
- Maximum class size of 8 dancers.
DROP OFF/PICK UP:
- Only registered students will be allowed to enter the basement and studio. No drop-ins will be allowed. Our waiting room will remain closed.
- Attendance will be taken each class.
- Dancers must be dropped off and picked up outside.
- Masks must be worn when entering and exiting or waiting in common areas.
- Dancers are encouraged to arrive no more than 5 minutes before classes and be picked up no more than 5 minutes after their classes end.
- Outdoor belongings to be brought into the building must be limited and dancers will bring all items into the studio with them.
- All dancers are required to arrive in dance attire.
- Each student’s temperature will be checked before entering the basement/studio.
ADDITIONAL CLEANING AND HYGIENE PROCEDURES:
- Full premises will be fully cleaned each evening and in between classes.
- Disinfecting of high touch surfaces will occur between each cohort change. This includes desks, worktops, countertops, ledges, lobby benches, sinks, faucets, toilets, handrails, ballet barres, interior door handles, exterior door handles, stereo knobs/buttons/surrounding areas.
- Employees, students and visitors are required to wear MASKS upon entering and exiting the building. Masks do not need to be worn when dancing - dancers and teachers will keep a safe distance apart at all times.
- Washing hands with soap and water will be encouraged as often as needed and hand sanitizing stations will be placed at points of entry to the business and at other locations where people are known to place hands.
- Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Encourage respiratory etiquette (e.g., coughing or sneezing into a bent elbow, promptly disposing of used tissues in the trash) is followed.
- AHS precaution and prevention posters will be clearly and visibly displayed in all appropriate areas.
TUITION FEES AND REFUND POLICIES
- Tuition fee and registration fee are due upon registration and are non-refundable.
- A $35.00 administration fee is charged on all NSF cheques.
- Should any classes be cancelled due to the evolving COVID-19 health concern, credits will applied to next season.
- Zhaoli Dance School DOES NOT give refunds for class(es) missed due to holiday, vacation, illness, weather, etc.
